Safety

Inland navigation vessels, yachts and offshore boats often lack redundancy; they have no safety systems such as an additional screw which ensures operation and maneuverability of the ship in case of failure of a system part.

Another deficiency of conventional drive systems is the lack of precision of the propeller speed regulation via the combustion engine. This may lead to cavitation, and a sudden stop is not possible in hazardous situations.

The advantages of the HTP® drive system regarding safety aspects:

    • Ships with only one screw can be equipped with a sufficient redundancy.
    • Automatic support of the steerman in critical situations.
    • Immediate reaction of the screw at stops or during reversing.
